Leisure time arround our framework holiday flat<\/h1>\n

What is going on outside?<\/h4>\n

The Schaumburg community – closely linked with the metropolitan area of Hannover and the city of Minden on the other side is offering lots of possibilities for your leisure time quite equal for what age.<\/p>\n

Hiking, Biking or just a short walk through the field yard just about 300m away of the main door.<\/p>\n

Water sports at lake Steinhuder Meer<\/a>, or at the nearby river Weser<\/a> or at one of the gravel lakes in the region.<\/p>\n

Just within 45 minutes you are able to reach Hannover by train or car where you can visit the Opera<\/a>, Theater<\/a>, or the famous Zoo Hannover<\/a>. Lots of other theatres, cinemas and museums combined with shopping and other event locations<\/p>\n

Enjoying local and international cousin is possible just around the corner in Nienst\u00e4dt as well as within the region.<\/p>\n

Also, the region is famous for his fairy tale cities. Wiedensahl as birhtplace of Whillhelm Busch (Max and Moritz)<\/a>, Hameln<\/a> as city with the fairy tale of the rat hunter or Bodenwerder<\/a> where Baron of M\u00fcnchhausen had survived his adventures once upon a time will show you the romantic side of the region.<\/p>\n

Every live stage would have own preferences about leisure time. The region offers lots of places to be endeavoured and we would be lucky to support you based on your preferences about posslbe hot spots for your pleasure.<\/p>\n

Cultural events within the Region<\/h4>\n

If you would lke to bike during the afternoon hours to visit a lokal event in B\u00fcckeburg, Obernkirchen or Stadthagen – or if you take the train or the car for a trip to Hannover or Minden to visit a Theater or join a crative workshop – everything is possible.<\/p>\n

If you would like to go out you’ll find interesting spots quite equal how old you are and what you are looking for.<\/p>\n

B\u00fcckeburg with his great Castle and the related Events Landpartie<\/a>, X-mas glamour<\/a> and Midaged Spekakulum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In close by town of Obernkirchen every 2nd year the internatiional\u00a0 Sculpturs Symposium<\/a> will be held. International Sculptors are using the famous Obernkirchener Sandstone to create famouse artwork plastics.<\/p>\n

The Manor Remmeringhausen<\/a> offers the British Weekend<\/a>, the Planting day’s<\/a> and the Romantic Garden<\/a>.festival.<\/p>\n

Hannover offers with the international fire work contest and the little festival in the big garden two events on world class niveau.<\/p>\n

Walking and hiking<\/a><\/h4>\n

Just in front of the main entrance<\/a> you can start nice foot walks as well as bigger hikes<\/a> – just without using your car or bike to reach another starting point.<\/p>\n

So you’ll enter the open field yard just after 300m from our main door<\/a> – and you could start your tour directly from here in various distances – related to your behaviour.<\/p>\n

Just about 20 minutes via hike the local hill ‘B\u00fcckeberg’<\/a> could be reached. About 260m altimeters until the top of the hill – starting on our holiday flat – with huge forest areas and lots of tiny and bigger hiking trails.<\/a><\/p>\n

Linked to the B\u00fcckeberg other hills of the Weser valley are connected with hiking trails – so just making a 30km hike would also not be a problem. For example, you can hike to the ‘Porta Westfalica’ where the river Weser has broken through the hills during the last ice age and where you’ll find romantic places for a nice stop over. Also, you can use the Train back home from here.<\/p>\n

Per Pedes<\/a><\/h4>\n

If you are traveling with a ‘plain bike’, or a touring bike, a racing bike, a mountain bike or an e-bike. Just starting on the front of the holiday flat you’ll find your track to go based on your condition, equipment and timeframe to endeavor the region ‘per pedes’.<\/p>\n

Getting by bike to the old towns of B\u00fcckeburg or Stadthagen will cost you – depending on your condition – about 20 to 40 minutes for shopping or visiting some of the local sites and restaurants.<\/p>\n

Around the lake ‘Steinhuder Meer’ you’ll find a nice loop road – along the ‘Midland Chanel’ you are able to bike to Minden or to Hannover and also the forest area ‘Schaumburger Wald’ will offer you nice spots and roads for discovering the region.<\/p>\n

Castles and Chateaus<\/h4>\n

The Weser valley is speckled with Castles and Chateaus from the Middle Ages. Lots of them could easily be discovered by car or bike.<\/p>\n

Chateau B\u00fcckeburg<\/a>, the name giving Schaumburg<\/a>, the Paschenburg<\/a> – or Manor Remmeringhausen<\/a> – near to everywhere it is possible to enjoy the local restaurants at the Castles and Chateaus starting from French fries to go to exquisite cooking and dining.<\/p>\n

The lake Steinhuder Meer with the fortress Willhelmstein invites for a boat trip and offers on the shore and the island different food e.g. the famous Steinhuder fish<\/p>\n

Farm shops & farm coffees<\/h4>\n

The district of Schaumburg is a country side district. That’s why we do have lots of farm shops in the region what could be worth a visit to buy local food specialities.<\/p>\n

Also farm coffees are popular with amazing cakes prepared by the farmers families.\u00a0\u00a0 Both could be reached by car or bike and you are able to eat the cake within the farmers coffee or just use it as take away to find another nice spot for tea time.<\/p>\n

Our favourites:<\/p>\n

Neuland-Hof Runge<\/a> – well ‘Neuland Meat’ what means species-appropriate held chicken, beef or pork.Nice farmers shop with high quality products. Could be reached by bike within about 30 minutes or by car within 20 minutes. Would be on the way going to lake ‘Steinhuder Meer’.<\/p>\n

Naturwarenladen Mittelbrink<\/a> – Fruits, Vegetables, Cheese, grain and lots of other delicious organic products. Nice bike ride – but a bit longer due to the distance – but also reachable by car on the way to lake ‘Steinhuder Meer’ for example<\/p>\n

Eggelmanns Hofkaffee<\/a> – fine cakes & tarts – reachable by bike easily within 20 minutes or by car within 5-10 minutes.<\/p>\n

Stackerjahn<\/a> organic vegetable farm: fine selection of delicious organic vegetables of the season and other organic products.<\/p>\n

Sinn Weine<\/a>: fine organic wine shop in combination with an independent book store<\/p>\n

Villages, Spots, Cities<\/h4>\n

You’ll find nice places to go – quite equal if you are on ‘Mittelbrink’ within the ‘Schaumburg Forest’ with about 15 houses – or if you travel to Hannover with about 500’000 inhabitants. So, the bandwidth of places could be visit is wide and you can choose on your demand where you would like to go.<\/p>\n

If you would get wet, you’ll also find lots of possibilities within the region.<\/p>\n

Examples for some ‘wet places’ are the event pool Tropicana Stadthagen,<\/a> open air swimming pools like Freibad Obernkirchen<\/a> or Freibad B\u00fcckeburg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also, we do have lots of gravel pools with beach, the lake Steinhuder Meer with his beaches or the Weser River with some singed beaches and Beachbars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you would like to travel by boat you can check the time table of the Weser River shipping company (Bootsfahrten auf Weser & Mittellandkanal)<\/a> or check up a boat to Island Willhelmstein on lake Steinhuder Meer.<\/p>\n

Canoeing, Standup paddle, swimming, surfing, water ski – take your choice and we’ll give you advice where you could find your place to go.<\/p>\n

Going into the underground<\/h4>\n

The region offers different underground spots.<\/p>\n

The huge flowstone cave Schillat-H\u00f6hle<\/a> is situated close to Hessisch Oldendorf and could be reached by car within 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Also the old iron ore mine ‘Kleinbremen (Eisenerzmine)<\/a> could be visited as well as the old coal mine Feggendorf (Feggendorfer Stolln<\/a>).<\/p>\n
